Spiritual development at CHA centers on five clear principles we call Crusader Characteristics: Respectful, Responsible, Kind, Honest, and Hardworking.
These aren't abstract ideals; they're practical biblical traits your child learns to live out in real situations, from solving math problems to navigating friendships.
Every Bible verse your preschooler memorizes, every chapel service your middle schooler attends, and every teachable moment throughout the day builds toward the same goal: helping your child develop Christ-like character and attitudes.
Once a month, something special happens. Students from all grade levels—preschoolers through eighth graders—gather with staff members in what we call Crusader Family Groups.
These family gatherings allow students to explore the biblical foundations of our Crusader Characteristics and discover practical ways to live them out. The sense of community extends far beyond these monthly meetings as family members continue to encourage one another in hallways, during recess, and throughout their daily interactions.
Our teachers are equipped and expected to weave biblical truth into every subject in ways that connect meaningfully to your child's spiritual development. This goes beyond simply hanging a Bible verse poster on the wall. It means connecting lesson content to students' spiritual development in practical, applicable ways.
In preschool, these themes become part of daily routines and playtime. Elementary students develop a worldview rooted in Scripture while participating in class discussions that connect faith lessons to real-life situations. By middle school, students are tackling projects and debates that challenge them to apply biblical principles to contemporary issues.
Teachers and staff use teachable moments throughout the day to help students apply these principles in daily life situations. This approach helps your child develop a biblical worldview that isn't compartmentalized but integrated into how they understand and engage with every aspect of life.
Every week, our school family comes together for age-appropriate chapel services filled with worship and encouraging lessons. Sometimes a teacher leads, sometimes our administrators share from their hearts, and occasionally we welcome pastors or special guests who speak directly into the lives of our students.
Your child will have opportunities to lead in different ways and give offerings to charities our school supports. Parents, we warmly invite you to join these worship times and see firsthand how your child's faith is developing alongside their classmates. These services build the sense of family that makes our school so special while giving students a foundation for corporate worship that will serve them throughout their lives.
From preschool through eighth grade, students are guided on a systematic journey through God's Word. Our Bible curriculum was carefully chosen and designed to match each child's developmental stage, building knowledge progressively while always pointing toward life application.
By middle school, students are studying both Old and New Testament content, learning to apply biblical principles to real-life situations. Each week brings new verses to memorize, but more importantly, new opportunities for teachers to help students see how these timeless truths speak into their daily experiences.
Imagine your child graduating from eighth grade not just academically prepared, but grounded in Gospel truth and growing in Christlike character. Imagine them with God’s Word hidden in their heart to guide their decisions, surrounded by a community that has watched them grow, and confident in their ability to live out their faith authentically.
This is the vision we're working toward as we partner with you in your child's Christian character development. We don't take this responsibility lightly—we see ourselves as partners in the work God has already begun in your family, supporting and reinforcing the foundation you're building at home.
